Cloud Service Providers Anticipate a Change in Business Model by 2020
International Data Corporation (IDC) released results from a new survey that reveals how cloud service demand is changing business models to fit client requirements in infrastructure, applications and other professional services. According to the survey, an average of 66% of providers will maintain the same business model by 2020.
Security is the primary consideration for 38% of cloud service providers, representing the largest increase in new cloud service investment. 2020 holds promise of a managed security services and professional services bunded with infrastructure service offers. While larger organizations focus on security services, smaller providers are focusing on professional services that replace traditional resale and host revenue streams.
